Tiran Island by Yacht — Snorkeling near Tiran Island

Tour description

In the heart of the Red Sea, between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, lies Tiran Island, a magical spot near Sharm El Sheikh. Once a strategic passage for trade, today it is a paradise for sea lovers and snorkeling enthusiasts. With no hotels or cafés, the island offers pure nature, crystal-clear waters, and peaceful surroundings.

Tiran is renowned for its coral reefs—Gordon, Thomas, Woodhouse, and Jackson—home to countless marine species. Snorkelers will encounter vibrant corals, schools of tropical fish, moray eels, stingrays, sea stars, and sometimes dolphins. Occasionally, sea turtles or even whale sharks appear. Visibility can reach up to 40 meters, and sunlight creates a magical underwater spectacle.

Even without snorkeling, Tiran mesmerizes with white sandbanks, turquoise lagoons, and panoramic views of the Sinai Mountains. The area is perfect for swimming, relaxation, and photography.

A highlight is the sunken ship “Lara”, a Greek cargo vessel wrecked in the 1980s, now forming a vibrant habitat for marine life. From the yacht, you can see its upper deck, especially in calm weather.

Legends and history add to Tiran’s charm: ancient incense traders, biblical events, and traces of old fortifications remind of the island’s strategic past. The surrounding waters are said to have a calming and rejuvenating effect on visitors.
